POSITION SUMMARY:
The Project Manager I (College Success) (Project Manager) will support Atlanta Public Schools (APS) and its college success partners to work closely with school-level College Access Teams (CATs), to educate counselors and related staff about the importance of match and fit, and provide technical assistance on root cause analysis of mis-matches and identifying strategies for improvement. The Project Manager also will work with stakeholders to ensure the design and implementation of the match and fit tool, including the underlying data, user interface and use guidance meets the needs of stakeholders. In addition, the incumbent will supplement Achieve Atlanta will provide strategic and tactical guidance and serve as an accountability partner to the Project Manager to leverage the existing network to achieve the goals of this project.

In addition, the incumbent will supplement Achieve Atlanta will provide strategic and tactical guidance and serve as an accountability partner to the Project Manager to leverage the existing network to achieve the goals of this project.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of tools and techniques that have been effectively used to increase post-secondary success, particularly with students who are 1st generation or come from underrepresented populations, including match and fit advising
- Understanding and experience using data to track progress, understand root cause challenges, and implement strategies to address identified challenges
- Highly skilled with establishing and maintaining effective communication with multiple stakeholders; experience working with parents, students, post-secondary institutions and/or nonprofit organizations are a plus
- Experience effectively resolving complex partnership dilemmas
- Demonstrated flexibility to change course and integrate feedback to achieve more successful outcomes
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize findings and determine the appropriate mode of communication depending on the situation and audience
- Demonstrated cultural competence, critical consciousness, and ability to work across lines of difference

- Deeply invested in the goal of the APS and Achieve Atlanta partnership to dramatically increase the post-secondary completion rates of APS graduates
- Assist Achieve Atlanta in recruitment of Network Ambassadors (a combination of select counselors and/or CACs representing a subset of schools in the network who will serve as liaisons to the entire network and as champions for the match and fit work).
- Co-design the team structure, cadence for convenings, and goals of the Ambassadors with Network Ambassadors and Achieve Atlanta.
- Conduct focus groups and gather feedback on various interfaces and decision rules in the development of the match and fit tool from Network Ambassadors and other stakeholders.
- Design a roll-out strategy for the match and fit tool with Network Ambassadors, APS data team and Achieve Atlanta.
- Develop and deliver professional development first to Network Ambassadors and later to all counselors, college advisers, and other school staff, on the importance of match and fit to college persistence and completion.
- Facilitate routine data review processes with CATs to understand systemic and root causes of historical mis-matches in APS.
- Provide ongoing training to support the use of the match and fit tool and improve post-secondary counseling practices at the school level.
- Ensure that counselors are using the tool and are building their own capacity and expertise in the continuous improvement process.
- Develop frameworks, best practices, and process guidelines for match and fit counseling practices within APS.
- Performs other duties as assigned by appropriate administrator.
- Required to attend scheduled shift during regular business hours as mandated.
Requirements: EDUCATION:
- Bachelor?s degree required.
- Advanced degree, with related coursework, preferred.
WORK EXPERIENCE:
- 3 years of experience working as or with high school counselors in large, urban school districts, or
- 5 years of experience managing partnerships that resulted in increased program effectiveness and the accomplishment of shared objectives; nonprofit organization experience is a plus.
