Essential Functions & Objectives:

The Senior Early Childhood teacher is responsible to support and maintain a well-organized, safe and stimulating classroom environment that meets the needs of the children and their families. Responsibility to ensure Colorado State Childcare Licensing requirements are maintained and followed, responsibility to support the program specialist in the day to day supervision of Early Childhood Educators.

Internal cooperation and communication:

- Work in conjunction with the Program Specialist pursuant to the goals of the ECE program.

- Collaborate with the Program Specialist to create and implement ECE program site goals.

- Meet with Program Specialist on a consistent basis to report on status of program and update on current issues, best practices, and evaluation.

Data-Driven Decision Making

- Work with supervisors to use formal and informal (internal and external) data to assess program quality.

- Use results of ECE relevant evaluations to refine, improve, and strengthen the program.

Program Design, Marketing & Management

- Curriculum planning & delivery

- Plan, coordinate, and oversee ECE licensed before and after school programs; as well as dismissal day and camp programs if needed.

- Assess the needs of the ECE students, parents, and community and work in partnership with supervisor to develop programs to meet those needs.

- Organize all related logistics for the program, such as room assignments, schedule of activities.

- Ensure quality age-appropriate activity standards are being met in programs.

- Oversee ECE registration and support families in use of the online registration system and ensure all appropriate paperwork is completed for each child.

- Work closely with nurse consultant to ensure student health needs are met and being communicated to appropriate parties.

- Must be present on site a minimum of 60% of programming hours each day.

Support supervisor in the training and retention of ECE staff.

- Provide ongoing coaching of ECE staff targeted at skill building.

- Support other Early Childhood Teachers, Assistant Early Childhood Teachers and/or Aides in all of their job functions including, but not limited to:

- Taking daily student attendance & implementing all tracking protocol

- Establishing structure, groups & rotations

- Managing student behavior

- Engaging parents

Host school cooperation and communication:

- Serve as liaison between day school staff, students, parents, and enrichment providers in a regular and meaningful manner.

- Share afterschool ECE outcomes data with day school to leverage program opportunities.

- Attend appropriate meetings within the school as requested by the Department or school leadership. This may include PTA meetings, CSC, and professional development at the school.

- Attend school events in an effort to build relationships in the community.

- Other duties as assigned.

Licensure & Certification:

- Early Childhood Teacher qualified per the Colorado Department of Human Services required.

- Must currently hold certification in or be able to become trained in First Aid, CPR, Medication Administration and Universal Precautions Certified.

- CO teaching license with ECE or SPED ECE endorsement,

Education & Experience:

- ECE professional Credential Level III Version 2.0,5640 ECE experience hours AND 2 ECE courses (must have either Intro to Early Ed or Guidance Strategies), 60 college credit hours AND 2 ECE courses (must have either Intro to Early Ed or Guidance Strategies) AND 1820 ECE experience hours, A 2-year degree in Child Development or ECE AND 1 ECE course (must have either Intro to Early Ed or Guidance Strategies) AND 910 ECE experience hours

- Bachelor's Degree preferred

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

- Strong organization skills and ability to multi-task

- Computer skills with data base experience a plus

- Experience building relationships and partnerships with diverse people and organizations; strong collaboration skills

- Flexible, self-motivated individual

- Evidence of verbal and written communication skills

- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills

- Experience in program development and implementation

- Experience in creating and maintaining collaborations with schools

- Bilingual preferred
