REACH Academy Charter School is looking for qualified substitute teachers to be a part of our creative educational model and join our family of educators, parents and scholars.
At REACH Academy we you will find non-traditional classroom learning environments which are highly engaging for all of our scholars.
We have small class sizes of 20 students;
There is a teacher and teacher assistant that works in every classroom;
Every educator receives 2 - 30 minute planning periods and a 30 minute lunch daily;
We have hight expectations for our students, parents and staff. We promote this through a school wide PBIS system. This process includes developing and teaching specific behavioral expectations to our scholars. These behaviors are positively reinforced throughout the school year by every staff member throughout the entire school, on the bus, during the after-school program, at REACH activities/sporting events and field trips. Scholars earn REACH scholar dollars when they are "caught" showing a positive expectation from the matrix from a staff member;
Substitute teachers interested in joining our family will be paid $120.00 per day.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain a safe and welcoming classroom environment
Facilitating activities for our scholars
Model and support our positive schoolwide PBIS system
Maintain a high level of energy throughout the work day
QUALIFICATIONS
Fingerprinted by NYS Education Department Standards
Teaching experience is preferred
Experience working with children
Reliable, punctual and available on short notice
Love of education and children grades K-2
