Primary & Middle School Performing Arts & Musics Teacher/HOD- Shanghai, China - January 2019

This is a brand new international school that has opened in Shanghai this September 2017. They offer a 12 year education to Chinese nationals and are now looking for a Performing Arts & Music Teacher/Head of Department - who can teach music from G1 - 8, and drama/film studies in G6-8, with the head of department role for the right candidate. This will be to start in January 2019. The school offers the best of East and West with a unique curriculum developed by Chinese and international education experts.

Applicants must have a Bachelor"s degree in a relevant subject area (Master"s degree an advantage) and be a qualified teacher with at least 3 years of successful teaching experience with the age group and subject you are teaching and with the UK and IBDP curricular. Successful experience in working with students in a pastoral capacity (eg as form tutor) and in a high achieving school. Previous experience in an international school and familiarity with British education system preferred. Some proficiency in oral Chinese Mandarin preferred and the ability to adapt to Chinese culture and work with Chinese colleagues.

The school offers a generous remuneration package and assistance with visa and medical checks required on entry to China. The package includes salary, international medical insurance, accommodation, annual airfare allowance, allowances for spouses and dependants, including school fees for up to two children.
