AN INVITATION TO APPLY FOR THE POSITION OF
SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS
HINGHAM, MASSACHUSETTS
The Hingham School Committee invites highly-qualified candidates to apply for the position of Superintendent of Schools.
The Hingham Public School district, led by a seven-member School Committee, serves over 4,300 students in Pre-K through Grade 12 and enjoys a high level of community support and involvement. The district educates students in six schools: Hingham High School (Grades 9-12), Hingham Middle School (Grades 6-8), the William L. Foster School (Grades K-5), East School (Grades PK-5), Plymouth River School (Grades K-5) and South School (Grades K-5). Town Meeting unanimously approved a 2018-2019 school budget of more than $52 million plus additional funds for capital items.
The mission of this high performing district is to provide challenging and comprehensive educational programs in a safe and supportive environment, enabling all students to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for success as local and global citizens. The Hingham School District has completed year two of its five-year 2016-2021 Strategic Plan.
In line with Hingham’s culture of continuous improvement, initiatives are underway to evaluate and improve the Special Education, Social-Emotional Learning, and Digital Learning programs. Hingham submitted a second statement of interest to the Massachusetts School Building Authority for the William L. Foster School in April 2018.
The Hingham School Committee is prepared to offer a multi-year contract with a regionally competitive salary and benefits package to a future-focused leader with exceptional credentials, accomplishments, and promise. The position offers a system committed to excellence, a dedicated talented and student-centered staff, an active and supportive community, and a strong administrative team. Review of applications will begin on October 29, 2018. The expected start date for the new Superintendent is July 1, 2019.
