Vice President, Platform and Curriculum Product Management

The Vice President, Platform and Curriculum Product Management is responsible for overall direction and establishment of long-term strategy and vision for the growth and development for all curriculum offerings, digital platforms, enabling technologies, such as Content Management Systems and Curriculum mapping tools, and capabilities, such as AI and AR. This position partners with business unit leaders and other cross-functional stakeholders to champion initiatives that affect the direction of the company and impact profits.

Supervisory Responsibilities: Directly supervises 2 - 10 Full-time Equivalent (FTE) regular employees and/or contractors. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

As Vice President, Platform and Curriculum Product Management, YOU WILL . . .
  • In coordination with Managed Schools, CTE, Fuel Education, Private, and Enrollment business units, set the curriculum and platform vision for all K12 Inc products and solutions
  • Design and manage decision-making processes and roadmap decisions that accelerate growth, speed to market, and ensure quality execution
  • Drive go-to-market support, including core messaging, features and benefits, and product definition across all lines of business
  • Keep up to date on the education and technology markets to ensure K12 Inc maintains our innovative culture
  • Ensure visibility into decision making, build financial models to support investments, and ensure teams achieve financial targets
  • Mentor and grow a team of product managers
  • Collaborate with stakeholders, user experience, and internal teams to define the strategic priorities and execution plans of K12 Inc product investments
  • Support communication, training, and marketing of our products to lines of business
  • Make resource recommendations to further K12 Inc strategic plan
  • Oversee product management, product marketing, and product support functions
  • Ensure quality of experience through high quality, efficient product support
  • Manage organizational investments, budget, and resource allocations to achieve maximum throughput and impact on student experience

Requirements

MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree AND
  • Fifteen (15) years of product experience OR
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience

OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Ability to negotiate and resolve complex and sensitive issues with diplomacy and persuasiveness.
  • Ability to manage processes and clearly articulate complex information to achieve common goals.
  • Proficient in Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Web.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel 25% of the time
  • Ability to pass required background check

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Management experience
  • Education industry experience preferred
