TITLE : Student Information Systems Support

DEPARTMENT : Information Technology

SCHEDULE AND COMPENSATION WILL BE NEGOTIATED - minimum 3 days per week

DUTIES:

Support district & school leadership in developing data management practices and internal operating procedures in order to optimize the use of the Aspen Student Information System and ensure that all essential staff and leaders have the capacity to manage and use data.

Assist in developing management tools to ensure that essential functions such as scheduling, state reporting, report cards, family communication, enrollment, etc. are monitored and maintained.

  • Responsible for data integrity within multiple administrative applications
  • Set up and monitor automated data transfers between SIS and various systems
  • Manage annual rollover and updates within assessment and curriculum systems
  • Support and train office staff with the entry of student enrollment, demographic, contact information, staff demographic, contact, licensure, qualification, and district employment history
  • Conduct regular data validation and cleaning within the student information system (SIS)
  • Assist with retrieving information and generating local reports from the SIS
  • Training and onsite technical support for principals with the Aspen scheduling function including support with meeting required deadlines
  • Leveraging Aspen to support standards-based grading including back-end maintenance of Aspen to ensure timely access to gradebooks and publication of progress reports and report cards
  • Train staff to use relevant programs to input and access data
  • Performs other duties as assigned that fall within the overall scope of the position


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Demonstrated experience with the Aspen Student Information System including deep knowledge of and experience with Aspen scheduling, gradebook, progress report, report card and parent portal systems

Demonstrated experience completing state reports such as EPIMS, SCS, SIMS, SSDR.

Excellent organizational and project management skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with staff at all levels.

Ability to develop and maintain relationships with administrative, professional and clerical staff throughout the organization.

Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.

Ability to work a flexible schedule, which may include evenings, weekends, etc. to insure organizational needs are met.
