   License and Certification Qualifications: None required.

Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required.

Experience Qualifications: Three years of experience in fleet maintenance or a related field required.

Skills Qualifications: Ability to follow oral and written instructions quickly and accurately; ability to research technical manuals, service bulletins, recall notifications, and other technical documentation in hard copy and on the web; knowledge of motor vehicle systems and components and maintenance/service procedures and processes; ability to use computer software to accomplish tasks including word processing, spreadsheet, database management, and vehicle maintenance management applications; ability to interpret raw data and prepare management reports; ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing; and ability to maintain positive working relationships with other employees and vendors.

Primary Responsibilities: Responsible for planning, executing, and controlling outsourced vehicle maintenance services, maintenance campaigns and recalls, and servicing and inspection scheduling for the school bus and support vehicle fleets for the Fleet Maintenance Department.

1. Plan, execute, and control outsourced vehicle maintenance service.
a. Approve work orders within approval limits or route to supervisor as appropriate.
b. Coordinate repair and maintenance requirements with appropriate personnel and obtain quotes from vendors in accordance with purchasing procedures and fleet maintenance guidelines.
c. Determine appropriate work location such as vendor shop, district shop, or parking lot.
d. Direct transport of vehicles to and from these locations by bus managers/vehicle transport drivers.
e. Track outsourced vehicle status and contact vendors promptly to resolve delays.
f. Provide vendors approvals for supplemental work in a timely manner.
g. Enter appropriate data into the computerized maintenance management system and review invoices and pay vendors promptly by the appropriate payment method.

2. Prepare preventive maintenance service and monthly inspection schedules for school buses and support vehicles.
a. Enter work orders in Maximo to establish service schedules for all fleet maintenance shops.
b. Ensure compliance with federal and state mandated vehicle safety inspections.
c. Track completion status and prepare reports as directed to inform management of the preventive maintenance program status.

3. Plan, execute, and control maintenance campaigns and recalls.
a. Establish campaigns in Maximo by entering the appropriate data in a timely manner.
b. Obtain quotes from vendors in accordance with purchasing procedures and fleet maintenance guidelines.
c. Approve work orders within approval limits or route to supervisor as appropriate.
d. Determine appropriate work location such as vendor shop, district shop, or parking lot.
e. Direct transport of vehicles to and from these locations by bus managers/vehicle transport drivers.
f. Track completion status and prepare reports as directed to inform management of campaign status.
g. Enter appropriate data into Maximo and perform work flow approvals as required and review invoices and pay vendors promptly by the appropriate payment method.

4. Monitor vehicle maintenance software for timely execution of work and notify the appropriate shop to take action to correct any deficiencies.
a. Enter actual labor and parts into work orders when appropriate for outsourced work, campaigns, preventive maintenance servicing, and statutory inspections.
b. Supervise the collection, review, and filing the monthly safety inspection forms and the annual Department of Public Safety annual safety inspection forms.

5. Serve as the subject matter expert on the Maximo work order application.
a. Maintain expertise in using the Maximo work order management application.
b. Assist personnel at the fleet main shop and satellite shops in resolving problems with entering and processing Maximo work orders.
c. Assist all shops in closing work orders when required.

6. Assist with the annual school bus safety inspections conducted by the Georgia Department of Public Safety (DPS).
a. Establish the annual inspection plan that identifies which district shops will serve as inspection sites and the number of DPS inspectors to be assigned to each site.
b. Coordinate the schedule with the DPS and district shops and prepare inspection forms and schedule district buses that require inspection and transmit schedule to the shops.
c. Monitor progress of the inspections and reschedule buses not inspected for a makeup inspection to be conducted by the DPS at a later date.
d. Compile and transmit inspection completion documents to the DPS.
e. Coordinate the repairs of buses placed out of service by the DPS inspectors and report results to the DPS in a timely manner.

7. Maintain positive working relationships with vendors and other district employees.
a. Maintain open communications with customers and suppliers to assist in determining maintenance requirements and completing repairs and services.
b. Promote teamwork and mutual support among fleet maintenance and other district employees.

8. Be on call for necessary work 24 hours per day, seven days per week.

9. Perform other duties as assigned.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
