    Position Description: Web Editor Specialist
    Cincinnati Public Schools is seeking a Web Editor to join its innovative Office of Communications and Engagement. We're looking for a Web Editor to direct content development and strategy, enhance the user experience for our students and families, and extend the reach of the Cincinnati Public Schools brand.
    This role requires management and development of content across the Cincinnati Public Schools Web Enterprise (including school websites). If you're passionate about storytelling, content strategy and development, and are driven to our diverse base of stakeholders - we'd love to hear from you.

    Essential Functions of Position
    • Lead content strategy for the District's flagship website, www.cps-k12.org to achieve key goals of website: enrollment, employment and engagement of the CPS community;
    • Maintain brand consistency across flagship and school sites;
    • Generate content, maintain and support web content strategy across the district and 59 school websites as part of CPS' Web Team;
    • Ensure the CPS Websites are current, up-to-date and engaging.

    Job Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing or related field, or similar work experience
    • Strong writing and comprehension a must, with the ability to write towards a brand's voice
    • Have expert knowledge in how to design web content with the user experience at the center
    • Have experience with digital tools, preferably working with a Content Management System
    • Understand the importance of web accessibility and usability
    • Understand the use of web style guides
    • 2-5 years of experience in website management

    What you'll be doing
    • Editing, reviewing and publishing content for CPS websites
    • Maintain consistent content/copy across website(s)
    • Fact-checking resources provided by content-owners and managing accuracy
    • Formatting and editing written and visual content to optimize search traffic
    • Managing a web content calendar
    • Supporting the CPS web team
    Bonus Skills
    • Understanding of Google Analytics
    • Knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.0)
    • Photography and video production with an eye for telling engaging stories
    • Sensitivity to design and knowledge of Illustrator, InDesign and Photoshop

    EMPLOYMENT PROVISIONS
    Type of Contract: Limited - 261 day
    Salary: Specialist - Per CAAS agreement
