Position Purpose
Under the direct supervision of the Building Principal, monitors students assigned to alternative short term in-school placement in the P.A.C.E. Room (Producing Away from the Classroom Environment).

Essential Job Functions
  • Monitors students who have been assigned to P.A.C.E room (behavior problems will be referred to the teacher or principal according to guidelines established by the individual school site).
  • Check attendance report daily.Explain PBIS goals and incentives.Reinforce instructions previously initiated by the teacher: monitor and check student work assigned to be completed in the P.A.C.E room.Process with students about appropriate behavior (PBIS matrix).Report behavior of students to administrators and teachers.Monitor and report inappropriate behavior by students to administration.Monitor bus arrival and departure.Monitor students during breakfast and lunch periods.Communicates with students and school staff in a positive and professional manner utilizing appropriate customer service and interpersonal skills.Circulate throughout the cafeteria or in areas where meals are served and/or eaten assisting students who need assistance.Dismisses classes in an orderly manner at the scheduled time.Participates in training sessions, meetings, and scheduled cleaning days as requested.Performs other duties as assigned.

• Use standard office equipment, such as personal computers and copiers.

Qualifications
  • Hold a valid and registered Illinois Substitute LicenseBasic understanding of practices concerning Character education, PBIS and appropriate methods of dealing with student misconduct.oral and written instructions.Ability to think, act quickly,ibly under emergency situationsMaintain a professional code of ethics.Mature ability to use judgment and be dependable.
