The School Business Finance Analyst works with school leadership and corporate finance to ensure the proper administration and compliance of all business and financial matters for the school - either directly or through oversight.
AS A School Business Financial Analyst, YOU WILL..
  • Oversees, prepares and approves all A/P logs;
  • Collaborates with K12 Finance/Accounting on coding and mails vendor checks after completing the processing steps;
  • Handles the expense report reimbursement, coding and the check distribution process;
  • Supports processing of payroll cycles in concert with the Head of School and K12 Finance/Accounting;
  • Manages requests for school purchase orders, transactions, and vendor records;
  • Facilitates expenses, research and reconciliation related to student therapy services in conjunction with Special Programs Manager
  • Researches, recommends, assists in the development/application process, and supports grants and other funding sources ensuring compliance and appropriate management;
  • Interacts with K12 Finance Manager and Head of School regularly to ensure the school's financial arm is accurate, transparent, and compliant;
  • Ensures timely and accurate submissions for State and federal funding determinations, audits responses, and interim financial reports;
  • Assists in the human resources process to include the onboarding and termination of employees, the determination of eligibility for and subscription to benefits annually, and manages employee files;
  • Implements and ensures compliance with Board of Directors, District, and K12 reporting and school finance policies, internal controls and business processes;
  • Assists in school audits and tax filings; and
  • Supports LEA billing process and associated bank deposits.

Are you driven by excellence to deliver instruction, support and guidance, manage the learning process, and focus on students' individual needs? If selected, you will participate in a comprehensive new teacher training program for three weeks before the start of school. It is an opportunity to meet colleagues and learn the responsibilities required for delivering curriculum in an online environment. During this training you will also learn how to monitor student progress through K12's learning management system, and to be a partner actively working with students and parents to advance each child's learning.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance, Business, Human Resources or related area of study AND
  • Two (2) years of broad-ranging experience in school business management OR
  • Equivalent combination of education, training and experience
(Other/Preferred/Desired) Qualifications
  • Experience ensuring compliance under Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX)
  • Familiarity with schools or non-profits
  • Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio, etc.); Web proficiency.
  • Ability to travel as needs arise due to business needs
  • Ability to pass required background check
