Terms/Schedule: 2.5hrs per day, Tues & Thur, 12:00pm to 2:30pm, school year calendar

Description

The Para-Educator assists the teacher in achieving teaching objectives by working with individual students or small groups of students, by assisting in the production of instructional materials, and by helping students with specific individual needs, in an environment that is safe and effective.
• Assists with preparing student activities/materials.
• Play/supervise students while Speech & Language (SL) Pathologists are working one-on-on with the students.
• Participate in circle time, modeling appropriate expected behaviors and production of the targeted speech sound.
• Accompany students as needed for bathroom breaks.
• Work under the supervision of the SL Pathologists facilitating learning centers with the students.
• Assist with snack time, art time, story time and walking students to the bus.
• During the last 15 minutes of the day, assist with preparing materials for the next class session.
