EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
This position directly supports the work of the elementary Principal in the development and implementation of the school improvement plan and serves as a critical member of the school leadership team. This certified full time staff member position also supervises at the discretion of Principal, overseeing and coordinating such activities as morning substitute placement, and/or communication of scheduling changes and special programming, etc. The Lead Teacher to the Principal will assist with preparing weekly, bi-weekly or annual reports covering a variety of school accomplishments and activities, as well as, assist the Principal in implementing the Danbury Public School discipline code, building safety, and emergency/crisis plans. In the absence of the Principal, the Lead Teacher to the Principal will administer student discipline, meet with parents/guardians to resolve concerns and acts as primary decision maker.
Other related projects within this general description of duties may be assigned by the Principal.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of current principles and practices of school administration. Knowledge of the rules and regulations of the Board Education and of the statutes and regulations pertaining to elementary education. Must be able to supervise the work of others.
  • Connecticut State Intermediate Administrators certificate (092) preferred
  • Must have five (5) years experience as a certified staff member
TERMS AND CONDITIONS:
Approximately one (1) additional hour of work time per day
$6,000 per school year
Position is for one (1) school year only; incumbents are eligible to apply in subsequent years.
