   License and Certification Qualifications: Valid Georgia Class C driver's license required.

Education Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.

Experience Qualifications: Five years supervisory or training experience in a related commercial or institutional custodial service environment required.

Skills Qualifications: Ability to create and deliver professional learning for custodial services that supports the vision, mission, and goals of the district; strong communication skills, both in oral and written format; knowledge of and ability to apply effective practices in professional learning; ability to work successfully with a variety of audiences; ability to project and generate a positive attitude; knowledge of and ability to explain the fundamental principals in cleaning efficiency, sanitary effectiveness, health benefits underlying the custodial care procedures, skills and tasks of Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS) Custodial Care Program, and other general custodial practices; ability to positively interact with administrators, teachers, students, and visitors of local schools; ability to hear, understand, and follow oral instructions given in the English language; ability to read, understand, follow, and provide written instructions in the English language at or above a high school graduate level; and ability to organize and complete multiple tasks/projects concurrently by established deadlines.

Primary Responsibilities: Provide training and technical or administrative support to develop, maintain, implement, and improve the GCPS Custodial Care Program and related initiatives throughout local schools and support facilities.

1. Provide custodial training relevant to the GCPS Custodial Care Program and related initiatives.
a. Develop written lesson plans, study guides, assessments, and related materials to teach topical or task specific custodial knowledge, skills, or abilities and evaluate custodial staff mastery of the teaching.
b. Lead sessions of the Monthly Head Custodian/Assistant Head Custodian Staff Development Meetings as scheduled and present topical or task specific lessons with designated hands-on participant practice and assessment as assigned.
c. Lead sessions of the GCPS Summer Custodial Academy as scheduled and present topical or task specific lessons with designated hands-on participant practice and assessment as assigned.
d. Lead sessions of the Aspiring Head Custodian Program as scheduled and present topical or task specific lessons with designated hands-on participant practice and assessment as assigned.
e. Lead individual or group custodial training sessions on varied shifts at local schools and support facilities as required.

2. Provide technical and administrative support to effectively implement the GCPS Custodial Care Program and related initiatives.
a. Review submitted custodial work schedules, approve those that effectively implement the GCPS Custodial Care Program, and recommend any additions or corrections needed for schedules that are incomplete, inaccurate, or otherwise unsatisfactory to the head custodians.
b. Conduct semi-annual and ad hoc evaluations of local schools and support facilities against the requirements of the GCPS Custodial Care Program and related initiatives.
c. Provide written results of semi-annual evaluations to principals, head custodians, and other appropriate individuals and review results with recipients to ensure understanding of the report and bases for results as recorded.
d. Provide guidance and assistance to principals, head custodians, and other appropriate individuals for the evaluation of custodial staff work performance, when requested.
e. Provide guidance to head custodians for supervising custodial staff in performing assigned tasks to maintain a safe, clean, sanitary, and orderly learning and working environment.
f. Provide guidance to head custodians for basic access and use of the PeopleSoft Supply Chain module, PeopleSoft Asset module, and Maximo Service Request module to order supplies, support asset tracking, and submit service requests.
g. Recommend to principals, head custodians, and other appropriate individuals any custodial training, teamwork strategies, work practice refinements, schedule adjustments, or other suitable ideas to improve implementation of the GCPS Custodial Care Program.

3. Provide technical and administrative support to maintain the GCPS Custodial Care Program and related initiatives.
a. Plan, schedule, and complete assigned support tasks including measuring and evaluating progress toward completion goals and adjusting plans and schedules as necessary to complete tasks by deadlines.
b. Review all materials in the GCPS Custodial Toolbox database to add, delete, or update materials as assigned to maintain accuracy and utility for defining, teaching, and implementing the GCPS Custodial Care Program.
c. Inspect custodial training facilities, tools, and equipment to confirm that all are maintained in a clean, sanitary, and safe working condition according to instructions and guidelines of the GCPS Custodial Care Program.
d. Initiate electronic service requests with all necessary information to obtain repair of damaged custodial facilities and broken equipment in a timely manner to ensure readiness for use when needed.
e. Initiate purchase of approved items in a timely manner to maintain an adequate inventory of chemicals, supplies, and equipment to perform all custodial training tasks.
f. Consult with principals, head custodians, and other appropriate GCPS staff when requested to provide a recommendation of applicants for potential hire into custodial care positions.
g. Provide direction and hands-on assistance to custodial staff and other support personnel in the urgent clean up of new or existing schools and support facilities necessary for the timely opening or re-opening in the aftermath of fire, flood, or other custodial crises.
h. Promote and maintain appropriate, positive, and cooperative working relationships with and among GCPS custodial, administrative, and support staff and provide insight for resolving interpersonal conflicts, when requested.

4. Provide technical and administrative support to develop the GCPS Custodial Care Program and related initiatives.
a. Remain knowledgeable of the latest developments in the sanitation industry through trade publications, online resources, journals, professional organizations, trade shows, and vendor contacts.
b. Assist in the research, evaluation, recommendation, and implementation of new custodial products, processes, practices, tools, and equipment for the GCPS Custodial Care Program.
c. Assist in identifying and defining the scope of new custodial care needs to be addressed and incorporated into the GCPS Custodial Care Program.
d. Assist in planning and developing processes, practices, training modules, and implementation schedules for new elements of the GCPS Custodial Care Program.

5. Provide technical and administrative support to improve the GCPS Custodial Care Program and related initiatives.
a. Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned schools to address concerns and complaints regarding existing elements of the GCPS Custodial Care Program and related initiatives, provide initial response in a timely manner, and resolve issues for which a current solution exists.
b. Assist in the investigation and resolution of concerns and complaints for which a solution is not currently available in the GCPS Custodial Care Program, advise the Custodial Services Manager of issues to be resolved, and assist in the development of solutions with other GCPS staff and external resources.
c. Evaluate the effectiveness of training provided to GCPS custodial staff by assessing mastery of the knowledge, skills, and abilities by trainees over time and recommending changes for improvement as indicated by assessment results.
d. Maintain knowledge of and familiarity with the custodial tools and equipment which are a part of the Basic Equipment List (BEL) for local schools and support facilities and assist in the periodic review of items listed and development of recommendations for items to add or remove.

6. Perform other duties as assigned.
