    • Provide speech language services and assistive technology to students with disabilities to support student achievement
    • Duties include: assessing, providing speech/language therapy to students; assessing, designing, providing training for, and/or programming of, augmentative and alternative communication systems for students with severe communication disorders; evaluating and integrating the use of assistive technology in the classroom; collaborating with multidisciplinary teams; supporting assistive technology use through modeling, coaching, and training; and, coordinating services with general education.
    • Be able to relate assessment findings and design intervention strategies that focus on implications for student learning in the general education classroom
    Education and Licensure
    • Minimum Master's Degree from an accredited college or university
    • Holds a Colorado teaching license or is currently eligible for one with the appropriate endorsement for this position
    • A completed Human Resources file including transcripts, student teaching verification, previous work experience
    • Acceptable Licenses
      • Speech-Language Pathologist (ages birth thru 21)
      • Speech Connectionist (ages birth thru 21)
      • Speech Therapist (ages birth thru 21)
    Endorsement Category School Speech Language Pathologist Strategic Plan: The teacher shall identify the development needs of students, shall maintain a productive learning environment, and shall work collaboratively to support the priorities of the Strategic Plan.
    Condition of Employment: As a condition of employment, the individual selected for this position will be expected to complete the APS-sponsored Linguistically Diverse Educator (LDE) Certificate Program within the first three years of employment.
