This is experienced administrative work of a confidential nature. With direction from the Principal or designated Assistant Principal(s), manages the main office of a school and renders administrative assistance to the Principal and other members of the management staff.

This position requires a high degree of accuracy, accountability, attention to detail, and confidentiality. Work is reviewed periodically for accuracy and conformance with general instructions by the Principal or designated school administrator.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Perform administrative responsibilities including but not limited to drafting letters, reports, memos for staff
  • Individualized Education Program (IEP) Meetings:
    • Schedule IEP meetings
    • Take Staff Attendance
    • Schedule Coverage when necessary
  • Staff Weekly Announcements:
    • On a weekly basis, this individual is responsible for communicating via email to staff upcoming events and projects
  • Daily student announcements:
    • On a daily basis communicate to students what the most recent events are and any immediate “to-dos”
  • Progress reports & Report Cards:
    • At the beginning of each trimester responsible for running, printing and distributing progress reports, and report cards
  • Organizing important mail/correspondence for leadership
  • Reviewing and updating attendance data and sending out notes to leadership and counselors
    • 1st period lates, frequent absences, cutting
  • Assisting testing coordinator with organizing exam administration
    • Final exam organization and copies
    • Regents
    • ACT Aspire
  • Assisting with completion of compliance reports


Required Knowledge and Skills:
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong, positive communication and interaction skills when dealing with co-workers, students, administrators, parents and/or the community
  • Communicate clearly and concisely in both written and oral form
  • Perform administrative duties
  • Coordinate daily activities and schedule
  • Be flexible and adaptable in a variety of situations
  • Remain calm under trying circumstances
  • Work with frequent interruptions
  • Computer skills: Excel, Google docs, Gmail, ATS, Powerschool


Educational and work experience requirements:
  • BA/BS strongly preferred
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience
