Job Summary
Oversees the implementation of college and career readiness programmatic activities on school campuses. Ensures coordination of school-based advisory and resources to support the objectives of enhancing career and college readiness as well as enhance family and community involvement within the school. Ensures all programmatic activities support Anchor Goal 1: 100% of students graduate ready for college and career and the School District College and Career Readiness Framework. Ensures that the programs are in compliance with School District policies and procedures, and governmental regulations. Oversees and directs the activities of school-based partners who ensure that programmatic outcomes are consistent with stated goals and objectives.
All Specialties
Essential Functions
  • Plans and implements activities which are designed to achieve the short and long-term goals of the school advisory program; plans and coordinates personnel training activities for instructional staff to ensure the attainment of required outcomes for participants.
  • Implements policies and procedures and monitors all phases of the program; meets with College and Career Readiness staff to review policies and procedures and other requirements; prepares and distributes appropriate program description materials.
  • Provides guidance to program staff in the development of specific and coordinated work plans; ensures that activities are executed in accordance with established timelines.
  • Ensures that data is collected and maintained as stipulated in the grant; maintains appropriate records and reports program activities to the project director.
  • Reviews the academic status of all program participants.
  • Prepares federal proposals, fiscal reports and other documents as required; submits the reports in accordance with stated grant timelines.
  • Facilitates parental awareness of, and involvement in, college and career readiness initiatives and activities; ensures that community groups are informed.
  • Oversees, monitors and implements the career path portfolio projects for students; initiates and maintains cooperative relationships with local career institutions to promote program goals.
  • Ensures that activities are planned, which inspire program participants to explore various career paths.
  • Trains program personnel on data collection; reviews the procedures, rules and regulations governing data collection.
  • Ensures that personnel have the necessary supplies and support.
College and Career Readiness Specialty
  • Coordinates and develops School District initiatives focused on post secondary initiatives including registration and preparation for the Preliminary Scholastic Achievement Test (PSAT) and the Scholastic Achievement Test (SAT); ensures that academic counseling is provided to all program participants.
  • Organizes college visits; holds meetings for parents and community members to provide information and stimulate interest in the program.
  • Oversees efforts to increase the scholarship amounts offered to students in the School District.
  • Participates in the planning of summer activities.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree program from an accredited college or university.
  • Three years of full-time, paid, professional experience in education which has included program management and has involved experience with evaluating programmatic activities, managing budgets and subcontracted services.

Additional Job Information: This is a non-represented position. The salary grade for this role is 4023.

Interviews may be conducted to determine how well a candidate meets the established criteria. Note that not all qualified candidates may be selected for an interview. Additional factors including the ability to follow directions, punctuality and professional conduct will be considered in part of the evaluation process. The selected candidate must have no anecdotal record on file and have not been subject to any disciplinary action within the past eighteen (18) months, and have an excellent record of attendance and punctuality during the last three (3) years (defined as no more than eighteen (18) occasions of lateness or absence for personal illness in the last three years (3) years with the exception of one extended long-term absence.
