Job Summary:
- Responsible for the administration of all computer systems used by the administration complex and campuses to collect and process student data and staff financial and personnel information, making strategic decisions as necessary. Provides analysis, design, programming, modification, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of computer programs and relational databases. Directly responsible for the establishment of procedures pertaining to data management, data integrity, system monitoring, system integration, and system optimization. Manages system and data requirements to include SQL monitoring, maintenance, creation and execution of SQL scripts.
- Perform analysis, design, programming, modification, testing, maintenance and troubleshooting of computer programs and relational databases based on user requirements/specifications.
- Provide a single point of contact for supervision, support, and training to users of a variety of reporting programs to include SQL, Access, Alio Intelligence, Infinite Campus.
- Supervise, administer and maintain all computer systems/programs used to collect and process student data and staff financial and personnel information at the central administration complex and all campuses over a wide area network. Create and maintain all user accounts, security, and access levels.
- Provide tier 2/3 technical support/troubleshooting for the student and staff administration systems for over 1300 users. Respond to and resolve all trouble tickets related to both the Student Information and Staff Information Systems.
- Design and maintain data export processes for cross leveling data between district programs. Provide system expertise to extract data from system sources to meet user needs. Provide SQL monitoring and maintenance and creation and execution of SQL scripts.
- Support system modules and generate accurate student and staff data for submission of timely data reporting to the Colorado Department of Education's Data Pipeline for various collections throughout the year.
- Supervise, train and provide guidance to designated school representatives. Develop and teach in-service classes for district personnel to include monthly registrar training and HRS workshops for Finance and Human Capital departments.
- Develop and maintain appropriate user groups granting database permissions to ensure compliance with FERPA and other legislative requirements. Perform backups/restorals in direct support of the Student and Staff Information Systems.
- Keep data integrity at an advanced level, maintain database system hardware and software integrity, ensure power users understand their impact on systems and other users.
- Develop budget requirements for ongoing support, upgrades and maintenance of the Student and Staff Information Systems.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer information systems, or equivalent.
- Over three years and up to and including five years of experience in database administration, network administration and analysis. Network administration, technical support of financial applications and/or Human Capital programs. Experience with scripting and program customization, backup planning and implementation.
- Valid Colorado driver's license. Infinite Campus Certified Administrator preferred. Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.
- Advanced oral and written communication, interpersonal relations, math, customer service, public relations, critical thinking, problem solving, project management, and organizational skills. English language skills. Strong personal computer, keyboarding, and word processing skills.
- Advanced knowledge of and experience with database applications and systems, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Excel, and SQL Server Administration.
- Ability to manage confidentiality in all aspects of job.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and multiple priorities.
- Ability to promote and follow Board of Education, Superintendent, building, and department policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds.
- Ability and willingness to carry a pager, be on call and/or respond to calls 24/7.
- Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.
