POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for team leadership, technical support and system administration of a subset of the enterprise applications portfolio. The incumbent will troubleshoot technology system internals, on premise applications, cloud-based applications and application technology interfaces with a focus on availability, reliability, archiving where necessary and backup/restore. The incumbent will be familiar with LAN/WAN/NOC, system installation/configuration, security technologies, server management and database management to provide well rounded support. The Senior Systems Administrator will lead a team of consultants to monitor, analyze, diagnose root cause and resolve issues in collaboration with other APS IT departments. The incumbent may be involved in technology procurement discussions and RFP reviews with the business stakeholders to provide a technology perspective. The incumbent will provide expert management of multiple vendors in relation to technology needs, maintenance and upgrades. The Senior Systems Administrator will provide effective communication to stakeholders of technical concerns, issues and solutions. The incumbent will be involved in system training and testing of new and enhanced applications at various levels. The incumbent may gather requirements and develop reports to support the business stakeholders' process and use of the system.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Analyze stakeholders needs and drivers.
- Drive resolution of technical issues and defects for on premise and vendor managed applications.
- Lead enhancements and upgrade efforts for on premise and vendor managed applications. This may require setup, configuration and system development.
- Support and possibly conduct training, quality testing and validation efforts.
- Author documentation as needed for communication, training, testing, maintenance and support purposes.
- Liaise with vendors to ensure technical alignment with APS IT standards and current technology portfolio.
- Provide consistent status reports to the Assistant Director and Director of Enterprise Business Applications.
- Contribute to a supportive work environment, team cohesiveness and embody the district's norms.
- Manage team of consultants providing application level support.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
- Required to attend scheduled shift during regular business hours as mandated.
- Demonstrated experience in SQL, programming languages, vendor management and technology architecture preferred
- Demonstrated experience in managing servers, databases and networks as a part of application support preferred
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple project assignments and competing priorities required
- Strong MS Office product skills required

Requirements: EDUCATION:
- Bachelor?s degree in related discipline OR
- Four (4) years? of related work experience in addition to the work experience requirement below required (nine (9) years total).
- Five (5) years? experience utilizing Information Technology Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
