Job Requirements:
  • State certified or certifiable as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)
  • Experience working with school-based students with Autism Spectrum Disorders
  • 1 Year school based experience preferred
  • Bilingual candidates strongly encouraged to apply


Summary:

The Salem Public School District is seeking a Board Certified Behavior Analyst to work with school-aged students, staff, and families to provide direct services and consultation. The BCBA must be proficient with observation and data collection and be able to develop and implement positive behavior intervention plans that foster student success. We are seeking a team player who can multi-task, prioritize and provide meaningful instruction to children and adults. The selected individual must be able to form and maintain relationships with families while respecting confidentiality and enforcing appropriate boundaries. Assigned work is largely within the confines of the school setting, with some home/school facilitation.

General BCBA Responsibilities Include:

Skills:
  • Develop data-taking mechanisms and reporting strategies
  • Evaluate students for services (use of ABBLS, VB MAPP, FBA, observational data, checklists)
  • Define all target behaviors in objective and measurable terms and design an appropriate data collection system to measure the target behaviors
  • Develop appropriate positive behavior intervention plans, social skills curriculum and individualized goals
  • Develop program books and ensure consistency in programming
  • Demonstrate effective communication skills (oral and written)


Duties:
  • Oversee the collection and analysis of data for student progress
  • Present evidence of student progress toward goals and objectives through IEP progress reports & Special education meetings
  • Assist with professional development
  • Provide staff with resources, tools, and modeling of techniques
  • Perform home consults as necessary, including home program books
  • Ensure behavioral strategies are implemented consistently and accurately across all settings
  • Work 1:1 with students and run social skill groups as needed
  • Complete needed paper work and job related functions in a timely manner
  • Routinely attend district and school based meetings, training and professional development
  • Perform other duties as required by Pupil Personnel Services Director


Salary commensurate with Teachers Union Step and Column
