Staff Needed: One (1) Reading Specialist
Qualifications:

• New Jersey Reading Specialist Certificate
• Have significant knowledge of data collection, data analysis, and data reporting.
• Be able to effectively use technology including, but not limited to technology for surveying, graphic and the presentation of data.
• Possess knowledge of language development, the reading process, and the components of reading performance to assess and instruct.
• Provide diagnostic testing to determine students reading challenges and determine reading programs appropriate to a student's reading difficulty to remediate reading challenges.
• Plan and implement sequential learning experiences for students using a variety of instructional strategies, consistent with the district and school's philosophy, mission statement, instructional goals, school level objectives, and the Common Core Standards.
• Engage learners in differentiated learning experiences for a range of skill levels and developmental needs found in the classroom, managing when appropriate, multiple instructional activities simultaneously
• Identify and select appropriate texts and materials to match students' strengths and needs and promote knowledge, independence, and motivation.
• Introduce students to a wide variety of children's literature at various levels and teach them how to select and use books at different levels for different tasks with a focus on motivation and developing lifelong readers.
• Ability and willingness to work the extended day and extended year program.
