Position Summary
Responsible for imparting knowledge and skills to middle or high school students. The candidate will utilize research-based theories and strategies to teach, organize and implement structured lessons for topics that include healthcare science, biotechnology, sports medicine, diagnostic and therapeutic services.
Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct students through effective differentiated teaching methods to ensure comprehension and mastery of content; Prepare engaging and challenging lessons; Attend faculty meetings and professional learning sessions (GACTE Summer Conference, Cluster Drive-ins sponsored by GaDOE, APS Professional Development, etc); Maintain and operate an active Career Technical Student Organization (CTSO); Perform other duties as assigned by principal, immediate supervisor and district-level administration.
  • Administer and/or support the state and local standardized testing processes and policies.
  • Administer various types of assessments to monitor student?s comprehension of content.
  • Enhance course content in the form of remediation, modification and enrichment.
  • Work collaboratively with middle/high school teachers to vertical align curriculum and best practices, where applicable.
  • Effectively manage the learning environment so that it is conducive to learning.? Maintain and monitor an effective learning environment free of hazard, ridicule and prejudice; Assist with student management throughout the building, grounds and/or other district facilities.
  • Coordinate parent/teacher and student/teacher conferences to review student performance, behavior and other issues.
  • Effectively communicate with students, parents and other stakeholders via verbal and written communication; Comply with all requirements for mandatory reporting of child abuse, illegal harassment, breaches of ethics, or any criminal activity of which the employee becomes aware.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Requirements: Education:Bachelors degree required with at least 2 years of occupational experience.
Certification:Must hold a valid Georgia Professional Certification in Healthcare Science at level T-4 or higher; or be eligible for non-renewable certificate.??
Work Experience:?0-1 years of teaching experience. Previous teaching experience preferred but not required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Knowledge of healthcare science, biotechnology, sports medicine, diagnostic and therapeutic services.? Ability to differentiate instruction and assess student performance.
