QUALIFICATIONS:
{C}{C} 1. Associates Degree preferred; high school diploma with experience minimum.
{C}{C} 2. Knowledge of accepted business practices in school districts related to human resources.
{C}{C} 3. Computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets, and accounting.
{C}{C} 4. Demonstrated organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
{C}{C} 5. Required criminal history background check, proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident status & NJ residency.
6. Bilingual (Spanish and English).
REPORTS TO: Principal
JOB GOAL: To ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the school office so that the office's maximum positive impact on the education of children can be realized.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
A. Office Responsibilities
{C}{C} 1. Types evaluations, memos, newsletters, faculty handbook and other documents as required.
{C}{C} 2. Performs office routines and practices such as sorting mail, operating the copy machine, serving as telephone receptionist and others.
{C}{C} 3. Maintains an appropriate filing system and readily retrieves documents.
{C}{C} 4. Receives, tracks, and distributes materials.
B. Student Records
{C}{C} 1. Initiates and maintains student records on Powerschool, NJ SMART, and in files..
{C}{C} 2. Keeps track of attendance and study hall, for grades K-2.
{C}{C} 3. Prepares and enters necessary state compliance reports.
C. School and Community Relations
{C}{C} 1. Demonstrates a willingness to assist and work cooperatively with colleagues.
{C}{C} 2. Assists students, staff, parents and others in person and by telephone.
{C}{C} 3. Prepares weekly student communications.
D. Work Traits
1. Maintains confidentiality as required and appropriate.
2. Demonstrates an openness to discuss suggestions.
3. Demonstrates initiative, independence and decision-making appropriate to this position.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Twelve-month employee. Salary to be recommended by Executive Director and approved by board.
EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with state law and the provisions of the Board's Policy on Evaluation of Professional Staff.
