Education Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in related field required.
Experience Qualifications: Five years of experience in developing and/or delivering computer assisted or online instruction required. Experience in training/teaching preferred.
Skills Qualifications: Ability to work successfully with administrators, teachers, and central office staff; ability to organize and complete multiple tasks/projects concurrently; excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to provide training via multiple delivery methods; knowledge of online content development tools; proficient in Microsoft Office and other productivity applications; proficiency in graphic design; willing to learn new software applications; ability to work successfully with colleagues; and ability to project and generate a positive attitude.
Primary Responsibilities: Design and develop online and instructor-led training for local school and central office staff that supports the mission, vision, and goals of Gwinnett County Public Schools (GCPS).
1. Oversee the planning of technology training for staff to support technology improvement initiatives consistent with the goals and objectives of GCPS.
a. Act independently to determine when training deficiencies require new training programs.
2. Design and develop training materials for online and instructor-led training sessions that meet customer requirements and are appropriate for adult learners.
a. Modify online training sessions and existing training materials to meet the needs of customers.
b. Analyze materials from a variety of sources and revise materials for appropriate inclusion in training and online sessions.
3. Facilitate and deliver training in synchronous or asynchronous online formats.
a. Deliver instructor-led training for local school and central office staff.
b. Complete setup for online training as needed.
4. Provide support in the collection and evaluation of data to determine the success and effectiveness of technology training opportunities.
a. Utilize data to identify strengths and areas for improvement in technology training.
b. Analyze and report effectiveness of online training sessions.
c. Make recommendations for continuous improvement of online training sessions.
5. Maintain a high degree of technical competence in the area of technology training applications .
a. Maintain working knowledge of instructional software, administrative software, and the administrative environment for the learning management system.
b. Stay abreast of new technologies by reviewing appropriate periodicals and journals.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is also required to talk, hear, stand, and walk. The employee may be required to use hands to finger, handle, feel, and/or reach. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
