Title (LAVCA) Related Services Coordinator

Description
Objective: The Related Services Coordinator serves as the contact point for all teachers, staff, parents, and service providers in regards to any therapy or related services provided to students through an Individualized Education Plan or 504 Plan. The Related Services Coordinator is responsible for adhering to federal and State procedures, timelines, and all required reporting in regards to the acquisition and provision of these services to students.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Build a network of providers throughout the State within the private sector as well as local school districts
Negotiate rates with providers based on market value of services rendered
Maintain awareness of current related services expenditures and annual budget guidelines
Establish contracts with service providers as appropriate
Ensure existing contracts are compliant (current licensure, documentation)
Maintain current and accurate database of related service providers
Ensure appropriate placement of all students requiring some form of related services in an expedited time frame (less than one week) with a provider within 30 miles of the student's home
Ensure all parties involved with the student have copies of necessary paperwork, including the most updated IEP goals
Ensure distribution of quarterly progress reports to all necessary parties for all students receiving some form of related service
Maintain tracking tools for students receiving related services
Ensure attendance at related service sessions
Work with therapists/families when conflicts arise in a professional and prompt manner
Ensure yearly evaluations occur in a timely manner
Work with lead teachers on IEP requirements for related service goals and services
Work with school psychologist during evaluation process for students receiving current related services
Work directly with the Business Manager and Special Education Director on verification and approval of all related service bills
Maintain database of all related services, invoices, and students
Continued research into related service options available in the virtual setting
Assist with enrollment process as determined by the Special Education Manager
Other duties as assigned by Head of School and/or Special Education Manager
Requirements Requirements:
Exceptionally strong phone skills
Strong organizational skills
High comfort level with use of Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience working within and maintaining a database
Team player able to work in a fast paced and evolving program
Working knowledge of special education and/or related services
Experience with Medicaid billing is a plus but not required
Experience developing and implementing procedures to complete tasks involving a team of individuals
Hold paraprofessional licensure (at minimum)
Experience working with students with special needs and/or their families is beneficial to this role
Ability to manage resources well (including tools, time, and staff)
