PSIS COORDINATOR
Unaffiliated 12 months (40 Hours per Week)
Salary Range $40,000-$47,000
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITES:
The PSIS Coordinator will be responsible for performing daily functions in order to maintain the integrity and accuracy between the District and State's student data, which resides in the District's Student Information System (SIS) and the State's Public School Information System (PSIS). The PSIS Coordinator will also provide guidance and support as needed to ensure accurate reporting of student data to the Connecticut State Department of Education (CSDE). PSIS Coordinator is also responsible for the upkeep of employee data within our current systems under the purview of Data Management. Reports to and takes direction from the Manager and Assistant Manager of the Department of Data Management/Systems.
RESPONSIBILITES:
· Maintenance of PSIS specific data located in the district's Student Information System (SIS).
· Responsible for reporting and managing Active Registration data within the State's PSIS system.
· Verifies data between SIS, Special Ed Information System and PSIS System for accuracy and compliance.
· Responsible for reporting and maintaining data for State Reporting i.e. (TCS, ED-166, SEDAC, SEDAC-G, PSIS Collections) reporting during report periods.
· Provide support and clarification to schools with SIS program issues in order to ensure accurate reporting for PSIS and Collection compliance.
· Assists with SEDAC and SEDAC-G to make sure that staff are accurately reporting the data within district's SIS and the Special Education Information System.
· Responsible for creating Ad hoc reporting using Crystal Reports, SQL, and other reporting tools.
· Responsible for communicating with the State Department of Education and other districts to maintain accuracy and compliance.
· Providing Level One Support to employees for logins, system issues, and system updates.
· Provides training, not limited to, on-site, remote, via phone and produces training documents as appropriate, related to training sessions.
· Other duties as assigned by the Manager/Assistant Manager of Data Management/Systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Bachelor's degree and/or Associates degree preferred.
· Demonstrated experience with managing large volume databases.
· Knowledgeable in Database Management Systems.
· Experience with Student Information Systems (SIS) and Special Education Information System.
· Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
· Knowledge of State and Federal Laws i.e. FERPA, COPPA, PA 16-189
· Superior written, oral and presentation skills
· Knowledge of State of CT Public School Information System (PSIS) and reporting Portal.
· Excellent troubleshooting techniques.
· Strong organizational skills with emphasis on detail and follow-up and the ability to meet deadlines.
· Demonstrated ability to maintain complete confidentiality of student records and other information of a confidential nature.
· Demonstrated commitment to department "team" concept and the success of the organization
· Ability to maintain flexible work hours including participation at evening events/meetings as needed.
Salary is commensurate upon education and experience.
