Position Summary

The Community Education Building (CEB) is looking for a self-starting and energetic Community School Director to accelerate our progress toward closing the urban achievement gap.

The Community School Director is responsible for the coordination and alignment of resources to benefit the students and families of Great Oaks Charter-Wilmington and Kuumba Academy Charter School. The Community School Director will carry out his/her work under the vision and direction of CEB's Community Council to achieve our shared goal of closing the achievement gap. The coordination of resources and partners will address key priority areas determined by the Community School Partnership team and will reflect student and family needs present in the schools: academic, social-emotional health, physical health, behavior, family engagement.

The Community School Director will be responsible for creating a high performing Community School partnership to achieve desired outcomes . The role of the Community School Director is complex and requires a dedicated person who can effectively connect resources and systems to achieve success for students and families.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Community Partners

¨ In coordination with the school teams, lead a comprehensive needs and assets assessments of the schools.

¨ Develop and coordinate community partners and resources to meet the needs and improve student outcomes.

¨ Facilitate the collaborative process and development of coordinated and integrated supports for students and their families.

¨ Identify, broker, and coordinate partner relationships for services at the schools.

¨ Serve as a member of the schools' student support, family engagement, and culture teams.

¨ Oversee the Family Resource Center.

Lead the Community Schools Partnership

¨ Organizes regular meetings of the Community Schools Partnership Team, comprised of school administrators, parents, students, and extended service partners.

¨ Collect, review, and analyze data to monitor the effectiveness of community partners, services, and supports.

¨ Generate reports on outcomes of the Community School partnership for various stakeholders.

¨ Plan for continuous improvement of interventions and lead the development of new strategies.
