Position Summary

The Programming and Assessment Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating academic programming and assessment administration in accordance with graduation requirements and the school’s charter. The Coordinator will collaborate with the cohort leaders to program students based on their needs to ensure that students are provided with the opportunities they are entitled to in order to graduate ready for college and careers in the 21st century.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

Academic Program Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for academic programming within a trimester system with a focus on developmentally-appropriate expeditious progress towards graduation;
  • Review and revise annual academic programming to maximize credit accumulation, ensure alignment with school mission and vision and student needs
  • Coordinate with the cohort leaders, department teams, school leadership, and New Visions network support staff to ensure programs and courses meet State standards;
  • Track students’ programs, course outcomes, and progress toward meeting course requirements and college readiness benchmarks

Assessment Coordination
  • Manage administration and logistics of all school-wide, state, and college entrance assessments including, but not limited to Regents; PSAT/SATs, ACTs, AP, SAT II; Performance Series, and trimester finals exams;
  • Identify and schedule students to take each assessment by cohort group and/or grade level.
  • Track students’ exam outcomes , progress toward meeting exam requirements for graduation, and college-readiness benchmarks;
  • Work with New Visions network staff to support distributed scoring for Regents exams;
  • Coordinate with Associate Director of Special Education to secure and provide accommodations students with disabilities for all assessments;
  • Coordinate with Technology staff to support administration of computerized assessments, as well as supportive technology for students with disabilities;
  • Secure fee waivers for assessments, as needed, for students with financial hardship.

Qualifications
  • BA or BS from an accredited college, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency with Google Docs, Microsoft Office Suite, PowerSchool, and other school information systems.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong familiarity with the State regulations governing programming, graduation requirements, and exam administration
  • Proficiency in Google Apps and the Microsoft Office suite required
  • Proficiency in PowerSchool required
  • Experience with DOE software, including ATS and SESIS preferred
  • Experience with Naviance preferred
  • Experience working in an urban school setting strongly preferred with previous charter school experience and/or working with young people, a plus.
