Job Goal:
- To provide service to create a well-organized, smooth functioning elementary or secondary lunchroom.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the preparation of main dishes and desserts.
- Preparation of vegetables as needed.
- Making sandwiches, salads, hot breads, etc.
- Operating kitchen and serving equipment, such as mixers, slicers, dish machines or vending machines.
- Setting up serving counters and serving food.
- Washing dishes and utensils
- Cleaning equipment and areas within the kitchen and lunchroom.
- Acting as cashier when needed.
- Filling in as temporary substitute for higher level work as needed.
- Performs other task as assigned and/or required.
Skills / Essential Functions:
- Ability to work steadily in a kitchen where food is prepared in quantity to meet exacting schedules.
- Neatness, dependability, personal cleanliness and good physical condition are a must.
- Functional reading, mathematics, oral and written communication skills (preferred).
- Ability to arrive at work as scheduled and when needed.
- Ability to lift 40 pounds.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Work experience in kitchen / school lunchroom preferred
