Assistant School Community Coordinator
The Cincinnati Public Schools invites applications for the position of Assistant School Community Coordinator at Rockdale Academy. This position reports to the Principal.
QUALIFICATIONS
Training: Associates Degree or at least 2 years of study at an institution of higher learning. Established work experience with Cincinnati Public Schools, school community and parent groups preferred. A sincere interest in the development of the educational environment and the ability to relate well with youth and adults is necessary.
Experience: Experience working with a diverse student population in a school environment or related setting. An educational background is required with a teaching background preferred.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
The successful candidate shall have the training, skills and ability necessary to:
Serves as parent coordinator and will involve parents in the school community by working with the administration, the school leadership team, parent associations, and community groups to ensure student success by increasing the level of parent involvement.
Work closely to support/coordinate events and activities to benefit the student body of Rockdale Academy.
Serves as a liaison for parent and school community concerns and issues including, school policies regarding attendance and at risk students.
Support during conversations and planning meetings to support students who may require additional resources or interventions.
Assist in collaboration with the school staff and partners to schedule parent meetings.
Responsible for communicating and promoting upcoming events as it relates to student/parent/family involvement.
Acquire additional resources to enhance student/parent involvement.
Create surveys and other assessment tools in order to provide appropriate services. Participate in needs assessment to determine necessary supports and resources for students and family population.
Support in student monitoring when necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
