SIS Coordinator/Registrar: New Orleans

Role Mission : The SIS (Student Information Systems) Coordinator and Registrar support a K-12 campus and are responsible for establishing and maintaining permanent academic records and helping process student enrollment, scheduling, and withdrawal.

Responsibilities:

Meets 100% of recruitment goals
  • Effectively recruits new families with specific application goals per grade level, 175 quality applications for 1 st, ,2 nd & 6 th grades and 200 applications for Pre-K
  • Monitor quality applications submitted by verifying data, i.e. name and grade level
  • Calling parents to validate the accuracy of data collected
  • Removes duplicate applications from School Mint before lottery

100% New Student Registration
  • Develops communication plan for student registration
  • Owns the efforts on registering all incoming students
  • Verifies all correct documentation for each student is received
  • Supports in requesting information from previous districts for each student
  • Assists parents in completing online registration

90% New Family Persistence
  • Ensures all new families are effectively on-boarded beginning with Lottery, Welcome to IDEA, Summer Registration, Culture campus and through the 1 st year of school by communicating dates and times
  • Supports in the successful execution of communication
  • Monitors parent participation throughout all onboarding events
  • Assists in the coordination of Information Sessions and Open Houses to on-board new families

Ensures 100% of their launching school is fully enrolled by the first day of school

• Executes student recruitment strategies that target families with school-aged children within the 1 to 3-mile radius immediately surrounding each school
• Attends community events and informational fairs to inform eligible families and promote IDEA Public Schools
• Attends offsite presentations to daycares, housing authorities, community centers and other organizations who serve primarily low-income families
• Participates in neighborhood walks and door-to-door presentations in neighborhoods near IDEA schools
• Assists parents in completing online applications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS diploma or GED required
  • Experience with records or student information desired
