    JOB DESCRIPTION:
    The Director of Student Information Systems & 21 st Century Program is responsible for the management of all aspects of student data services, which include, but are not limited to enrollment data, student demographics, transfers, etc. The Director of Student Information Systems & 21 st Century Program is also responsible for the analysis, tracking and reporting of data to State and Federal agencies, including attendance, discipline, truancy, homeless services, and others as assigned. The incumbent will report to the Chief Academic Officer.

    Desired Qualifications:
    Bachelor's Degree in Technology or Education
    Experience in a public school setting
    Experience with data collection, visualization, and management
    Two years of professional experience developing and administering databases (Microsoft SQL, MySQL, Microsoft Access and Microsoft Excel)

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Knowledge
    Strong knowledge of IL State Reporting and IWAS system required
    Strong knowledge of Skyward Student Management Software required
    Knowledge of computer systems and software
    Knowledge of best practices in data collection and management
    Strong understanding of relational databases

    Ability to teach adult learners in the area of technology usage and data input

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: (Essential Job Functions)

    • Assist District Staff with enrollment as it pertains to the use of a database system
    • Directs the work of the clerks and registrar regarding the enrollment, withdrawal, schedule preparation, discipline input, report preparation and reporting of student demographics
    • Work with appropriate staff to set-up automated reports and emails for delivery from the student database
    • Makes adjustments to the student information database as needed for accuracy and reporting
    • Prepare student data to build files that will allow secondary software systems to allow access by certified personnel for the purpose of assessments, skill set development, and academic exercise
    • Build electronic files from the student database for IWAS reporting. Reports include, but are not limited to homeless students, early childhood outcomes, English Language Learner and Screener records, teacher course entry and exit, immigrant and student address records
    • Use the student database and outside data sources to prepare the General State Aid Claim, Orphanage Tuition Claim, Title One Delinquency Grant, Application for Recognition of Schools, Civil Rights Data Collection, End of Year Report, E-Report Card, Estimated Best Three Months Average Daily Attendance, High School Students Taking Community College Courses, and 21 st Century Grant
    • Work with the 21 st Century Community Learning Center Advisory Team/Board to develop project action plan
    • Implement research based model programs and projects related to the 21 st Century
    • Monitor programs to ensure they are implemented with fidelity
    • Plan and facilitate 21 st Century Community Learning Center Community meetings
    • Conduct Site (Schools) visits frequently
    • Ensure that the program is implemented and completed with fidelity and complies with regulatory and programmatic requirements of the U.S. Department of Education
    • Manage the enrollment, withdrawal attendance, and student course assignments for the special education students in private education facilities
    • Create and manage data stores to house extracted data from a variety of sources
    • Create user-friendly reports to assist stakeholders (staff, district administrators) in data-driven decision making
    • Develop systems and procedures to ensure data accuracy
    • Develop visual data dashboards using District provided software (Domo)
    • Assist with the delivery and Reconciliation of State Assessment
    • Other duties as necessary to the position
