GENERAL INFORMATION:
Part-time, Temporary
18 hrs./week
No benefits/hourly employee

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree
- State of Delaware certification as Secondary School Counselor
- Experience in college admissions or high school college counseling, teaching experience, and computer skills
- Ability to work with high school staff, families, and college admissions staff
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills, strong organizational ability and the ability to meet deadlines
- Must have completed online application prior to closing date

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the school counselors in all aspects of the college search and admissions process, including the following:

- Educate students and parents about colleges, the college admissions process, financial aid and scholarships, trends, procedures, and testing
- Meet with juniors and seniors to advise them through all aspects of the college application process
- Present information sessions (the college admissions process, financial aid and scholarships, transition to college) to parents of juniors and seniors
- Assist with coordination of Advanced Placement (AP) exams, the state mandated PSAT and SAT administrations
- Serves as liaison with College admissions offices throughout the year
- Track admission decisions, statistics, and prepare associated reports
- Assist with the development of a College Search Handbook, to be mailed to junior and senior parents each summer, and with other related communications to parents/guardians
- Serve on award and scholarship selection committees, as well as assist with Graduation and Senior Award Program activities
- Track all college and career readiness AYP data.
- Other duties as assigned
