Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Position Summary:


Evaluates, identifies, and provides services to students who meet eligibility requirements for speech-language impairments; Works collaboratively and communicates with professionals and parents regarding integration of speech and language goals into classroom and home environment; Adheres to all federal, state, and local procedures

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Models correct use of language, oral and writtenMaintains accurate, complete, and appropriate records and files reports promptlyDemonstrates accurate and up-to-date knowledge of contentIntegrates designated curriculumIdentifies speech and language disordered students through evaluation and analyzing communication skills of students found in the identification processParticipates in or conducts students staffing in order to relate pertinent data used in the determination of students' needsAppropriately schedules students and conducts assigned classes at the times scheduledProvides consultative services to teachers, parents, administrators, and allied agencies in order to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom, other educational programs, and the home environmentEvaluates and reports student progress for continuation or termination of servicesParticipates with school administration/coordinators for effective planning, coordination, and implementation of speech/language pathology program into the total education systemAdheres to all District policies and proceduresPerforms other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator

Education and Experience:
Education:


  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology required; Must also meet the following requirements: Passing Praxis II scores, and successful completion of Special Education course requirement

Experience:
  • 0-1 year related experience required

Certification/Licensure:

  • Must hold or be eligible to hold clear Service Certificate in Speech Language Pathology

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills both orally and in writingExcellent organizational skills

Salary Information:
  • Actual salary placement will be based on Fulton County Board of Education experience and education calculations from the Special Education Teacher Salary Schedule (SPED).
