Reports to: School Principal

General Description:

This is a part time (0.8FTE) 32 hour position, Days of required work, 6.5 hours per day M,T,W,F with flexibility to accommodate school events schedule. The Staff Assistant will provide direct assistance to the principal to coordinate the Baldwin's family support, school-wide activities and fundraising projects.

Responsibilities:

General Duties
  • Organize the School Calendar
  • Chair Room Parent group (school parent council)
  • Coordinate all school-wide family-related outreach and events
  • Coordinate school events such as family nights and field trips
  • Coordinate school fundraising
  • Work with the principal to develop additional fundraising projects
  • Work with the Operations Leadership Team to plan school activities
  • Perform other related duties as requested by the Principal

Required Qualifications:
  • Associate's Degree
  • Experience with working with young children.
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and respond quickly to the needs of the school in a fast paced and deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to have a flexible schedule, able to come in early or stay late depending on school needs

Preferred Qualifications
  • BA
  • Technical experience in website and social media management
  • Experience working independently to carry out projects from beginning to end.
  • Experience conducting individual child assessments.
  • Experience with developing inventories and budgets of appropriate early childhood materials.


Terms: Managerial, Tier B, City of Boston residency required
.8, 32 hour position
Days of required work, 6.5 hours per day M,T,W,F with flexibility to accommodate school events schedule.

NOTE: School-based managerial employees will work 223 days between July 1st and June 30th each year. The 223 day work-year will include the 180 days in which school is in session, and the additional days will be determined by the employee and the principal or headmaster of the school. School-based managerial employees are not eligible for vacation time or compensatory time.
