CIS Program Manager

Responsible for oversight and implementation of the Communities In Schools model. The Program Manager will supervise school site staff, enhance relationships with partner schools, serve as a liaison with community service partners and organizations, and be responsible for data collection and reporting. 

Essential Job Functions:
  • Supervise, manage, lead and develop Communities In Schools site coordinators in the implementation of the CIS model.
  • Ensure site compliance with CIS National Total Quality Standards.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative partnerships with schools, parents, and other community organizations to promote the academic success of all students.
  • Meet with school leadership a minimum of four times per year (or as needed) to monitor satisfaction with site plan and staff.
  • Respond to school concerns, documenting improvement plans to be implemented.
  • Identify and incorporate various community resources that best meet the needs of the school site and its students.
  • Ensure the completion of the annual school needs assessments for each site in the program.
  • Guide site coordinators in development and implementation of the site plan, including:
    • measurable objectives,
    • procedures for delivering school/community-wide programs,
    • class/group-wide programs,
    • targeted case management services,
    • progress monitoring and  service modifications as needed,
    • evaluation and documentation of site plan effectiveness.
  • Oversee site program evaluation.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary meetings with collaborative partners, school staff, the CIS team, and other resource agencies involved in collaborative services.
  • Assist with program/policy development. 
Administrative Role
  • Participate in site team meetings and decision-making processes.
  • Manage implementation of the CIS systematic data collection plan to ensure accurate and current data for periodic and annual reports.
  • Identify and incorporate local and national best practices that enhance delivery of the CIS model.
  • Recruit, hire, and train site staff, contractors, practicum students, and AmeriCorps members on the CIS model.
  • Conduct weekly/bi-weekly on-site visits throughout the year to provide support and supervision to school-based staff.
  • Ensure the programs and services offered to sites meet or exceed expectations.
  • Conduct staff performance reviews.
Evaluation, Documentation and Reporting
  • Oversee data collection and reporting at each school for Communities in Schools evaluations.
  • Provide program information and overview of accomplishments to the Executive Director, CIS board, and District personnel as appropriate.
  • Ensure accurate documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with grant reporting requirements. 

Qualifications: Considerable knowledge and experience with youth engagement and relationship-building skills, particularly with at-risk youth. Commitment to social justice. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with schools, students, parents, community representatives and the general public.  Self-starter who is comfortable with new projects. Excellent facilitation skills.  Strong verbal and written communication skills.   Flexibility, collaborative spirit, and strong organizational skills.  Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.  Basic computer skills and working knowledge of Google docs and mail.  Commitment to helping young people stay in school and prepare for life. 
Requirements: Bachelor's degree with three years' experience supervising staff and overseeing a program, or Master's degree with one year of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted.
