18 Substitute Teacher

Substitutes are important to the success of the total school program and are expected to perform in place of the regular scheduled employee as directed by the school administrator. Substitutes carry out all duties assigned to facilitate the instructional process and to provide for a safe, educationally productive environment in the classroom, the school or the workplace. Substitutes are expected to support FCPS mission to inspire, enable, and empower students to meet high academic standards, lead ethical lives and demonstrate responsible citizenship. Duties may include the planning, delivery and assessment of instruction, communication, human relations, safety and management of a classroom or assigned instructional setting.

Qualifications:
A minimum of 60 college credits is required to become a substitute teacher. Transcripts (Diplomas are not acceptable) must be uploaded to reflect the coursework or degree conferred. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing; to understand and follow oral and written instructions and perform all required tasks; and to work effectively with children and young adults, as well as faculty and staff.
