    Employment Term: 10 months/Full-Time

    Job Goal: A Computer Education Teacher is a vocational educator in the field of computer science and related technological areas who coaches and teaches students in the fundamentals of computer software and hardware.

    Essential Functions:
    1. Creates lesson plans that are appropriate for the age and abilities of the students in the class.
    2. Evaluates student performances in class and on tests and provides feedback.
    3. Assigns special projects to students.
    4. Communicates students' progress to parents, particularly regarding students who need tutoring or other extra assistance.
    5. Provides appropriate resources and learning materials for students.
    6. Identifies varying teaching methods that work best for students who learn differently.
    7. Develops and updates curriculum for the classroom.
    8. Conducts research.
    9. Encourages creativity in students.
    10. Maintains computer laboratories and keeps an inventory of supplies.
    11. Ensures that computer equipment is functioning properly.
    12. Maintains accurate records of students' progress in class and on examinations.
    13. Keeps order in the classroom and handles student behavior issues in accordance with school system policies.
    14. Ensures that the internet in the classroom is used only for appropriate educational purposes.
    15. Posts grades and sends grade reports to parents as required by the school system.
    16. Teaches remote or online classes to adult students who cannot take part in daytime classes.
    Job Qualifications:
    1. Bachelor's degree; advanced degree preferred
    2. Valid teaching certificate for Business, Computer and Information Technology
    3. Previous teaching experience preferred
    4. Mastery of the necessary content knowledge and skills to successfully teach assigned content area(s) and grade level(s) and deliver exceptional standards-based instruction in assigned content area(s) and grade level(s) that ensures academic growth for all students, including those with special needs.
    5. Exceptional classroom management, organization, planning, instructional delivery, leadership, and technical skills; and the ability to utilize differentiated instructional methods to engage students in positive learning experiences.
    6. Must have knowledge of a wide range of computer technologies.
    7. Must have good social networking skills.
    8. Must have understanding of computer monitors, central processing units, operating systems, hard drives and file storage.
    9. Secure three background checks: PA State Criminal, PA Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprinting
