SUMMARY: Responsible for providing management supervision and leadership to the Curriculum and Data department. Develop and implement an action plan to provide areas of responsibility with the personnel, guidance, and support necessary to achieve their goals and maximize student achievement and the quality of classroom instruction. Continually promote the District's Mission and Governing Values.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Supervise and provide leadership to all areas of Curriculum and Data department to ensure alignment of efforts in maximizing achievement for all learners and to improve classroom instruction and student achievement in preschool - 12 th grade.

Provide professional development for campus administrators on the continuous improvement of curriculum, instruction and assessment quality and student achievement. Additionally, the Director will be responsible for monitoring and preparing data analysis reports of teacher and student achievement data to the Chief Operating Officers.

Direct and evaluate the work of assigned employees.

Seek out and implement professional development opportunities for staff.

Develop and maintain effective communications.

Develop and administer the interpretation of District policies, rules, and regulations and federal and state laws as they relate to Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment programs.

Analyze and interpret the process of budget development, implementation, and reporting according to approved District guidelines and state statutes for the Curriculum and Data department.

Support the District educator effectiveness model for measures of student learning under a pay for performance system.

Direct the coordination of state assessment administrations.

Coordinate information to ensure compliance with State and Federal statues regarding student data District-wide.

Review all research requests from internal and external applicants.

Monitor all State accountability systems as it relates to student achievement data.

Perform other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING: Master's degree plus additional coursework required for certification or licensure.

EXPERIENCE: Two years' experience as a successful administrator.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, & EQUIPMENT: Advanced oral and written communication, English language, interpersonal relations, math, budget/accounting, customer service, public relations, critical thinking, problem solving, organizational, and supervisory/management skills. Intermediate personal computer, keyboarding, and word processing skills. Knowledge of effecting positive change in a complex organization; organizational issues involved in effecting systemic change; facilitating large scale reform initiatives; using data to identify and implement scientifically reliable and valid intervention strategies for improving student response to instruction; and using a variety of instructional strategies, such as differentiated learning, to meet the needs of all learners. Ability to manage confidentiality in all aspects of job. Ability to diffuse and manage volatile and stressful situations. Ability to manage multiple tasks with frequent interruptions and multiple priorities. Willingness to respond to calls 24/7. Ability to promote and follow Board of Education and district policies and procedures. Ability to communicate, interact, and work effectively and cooperatively with people from diverse ethnic and educational backgrounds. Ability to recognize the importance of safety in the workplace, follow safety rules, practice safe work habits, utilize appropriate safety equipment, and report unsafe conditions to the appropriate administrator.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, & REGISTRATIONS: Hold or be eligible for a Colorado Principal or Administrator License. Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required. SUPERVISION/TECHNICAL RESPONSIBILITY: Directly supervises all members of the Curriculum and Data department. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Board of Education policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing; hiring; training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; appraising performance; disciplining; and terminating employees. BUDGET & RESOURCE RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for developing, administering, monitoring, and coordinating assigned budgets and grants. Recommend initiation of requisitions.

JUDGMENT AND DECISION MAKING: Work is assigned by supervisor and self. This position requires strong leadership, management, independent judgment, problem solving, and decision-making skills to administer and manage effective instruction and assessment programs that meet the needs of the students and District goals. Decision making requires collaboration with Chief Operating Officers, parents, students, administrators, and stakeholders. Supervisor is occasionally involved in decision making.

SAFETY TO SELF AND OTHERS: Low exposure to self to bruises and cuts due to typical office accidents and to repetitive motion injuries due to keyboarding.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

MENTAL FUNCTIONS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to compare, analyze, communicate, coordinate, compute, synthesize, evaluate, use interpersonal skills, compile, and negotiate. The employee is regularly required to copy and instruct.
