The School District of Waukesha is in search of a Director of Buildings and Grounds. The selected candidate will provide leadership in maintaining, modifying, monitoring, protecting, and continuously improving the condition, quality, and appearance of the District's facilities, buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure a healthy and safe environment for all students, staff, and visitors.

The School District of Waukesha is the seventh largest public school district in the state and serves about 13,000 students within 23 campuses. These, in addition to the service buildings and central offices, comprise the scope of this position. This position will have the support of three full-time facility managers and office personnel. Essential functions of the position include facilities management, supervision and staffing, budgeting, and safety. Experience in managing and directing a comprehensive building maintenance and custodial program is required, as well as experience in managing facilities staff, including hiring, coaching/mentoring, evaluation, training, and discipline.

Three-five years experience managing and directing a comprehensive building maintenance / custodial program. At least two years having direct supervisory responsibility for a multiple facility organization. Previous experience in managing a facilities staff, including hiring, coaching/mentoring, performance evaluation, training, and discipline. Previous experience in managing, planning, designing, and coordinating capital and grant-funded, construction and renovation, preventive and deferred maintenance projects.

Prefer: Facilities Manager Certification, School Safety Coordinator Certification, Certified Pool Operators Certification. Will be the District Asbestos Designated Person.

Prefer and earned bachelor's degree in a related field.

This position requires a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeated violations.
