Performs confidential secretarial and clerical responsibilities necessary for an efficient and effective school office that assists the Principal and/or designee and school staff in the performance of responsibilities so that a safe learning environment and effective instruction are provided, ensuring that all students meet and exceed the curriculum standards.

1. Minimum of a high school diploma with documented course work beyond the high school level preferred.
2. Demonstrates strong organizational skills with proficiency in record keeping, filing, typing, document preparation, database management and professional telephone and e-mail etiquette.
3. Knowledge of and experience with various forms of technology and software; proficiency in eSchool and Microsoft® Office programs (Outlook, Excel, Word, Publisher).
4. Professional demeanor with demonstrated ability to communicate in English and relate to the public and school district staff in a courteous and efficient manner.
5. Established record of good attendance and performance.
6. Applicant must demonstrate a level of knowledge and/or experience appropriate to the position.
7. Favorable criminal background and child protection registry check for the candidate offered employment.
8. Tuberculin test.
9. Participation in Direct Deposit

Salary Range: From/To: 1. 12 month position 2. Benefits in accordance with current Laurel Board policy 3. Salary in accordance with the Secretary classification on the state and local salary scale *Current employees only need to submit a letter of interest, however supporting documentation regarding skills, experience and/or training is preferred.

Additional Job Information:
1. Provide courteous and prompt service to students, staff, parents and community members.
2. Registers incoming students and handles data changes in eSchool.
3. Completes monthly bank reconciliation of school account(s).
4. Maintains records and requests payments through internal building accounts.
5. Maintains school and student records.
6. Compiles and distributes reports, completes data entry, and maintains records including staff attendance, student attendance, and calendar of events.
7. Maintain a current school calendar of events and use of facilities.
8. Assist the Principal or designee in the preparation of reports and documents by creating graphics and displays, using word processing and data management, creating an attractive presentation, copying, collating, and distributing final products.
9. Create forms, and compile and organize data and information necessary for the efficient
operation of the office, the completion of required district and State data collections, and the completion of the Principal's or designee's responsibilities. Complete all required monthly and year end reports in a timely fashion.
10. Create and maintain a clean, attractive, orderly, safe, and efficient office environment.
11. Orders, processes, and maintains inventory of office materials and equipment.
12. Other duties as assigned.

See 14 Del. C.§ 1313.
