Television Communications & Production Teacher, Renaissance Academy

Television Communications & Production Teacher at the Renaissance Academy. This position serves students in an alternative education setting.

Selected applicants should be prepared to submit production samples as part of the interview process.

Previous teaching experience is beneficial and the applicant must possess, or be eligible for, a provisional Virginia teaching license or Technical Professional license. An in-depth knowledge of video and studio production and editing is required. Experience in the use of audio mixers, switchers, character generators, teleprompters, studio cameras, digital cameras/camcorders, and camera control units is required.

Job responsibilities include classroom instruction, properly lighting a studio set, editing video and sound, troubleshooting equipment problems, using various types of microphones, and producing documentaries, commercials, dramatic programs, newscasts, and a local television show.
