Brief Description:
The Health and Physical Education Supervisor is responsible for the organization, operation, and coordination of programs for the Loudoun County Public Schools.

Detailed Description:
In accordance with these responsibilities, the Health and Physical Education Supervisor plans, develops, implements, directs, and assesses the Health, Physical Education, and Driver Education programs in all Loudoun County Public Schools for grade levels K-12.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Evaluates the effectiveness of instructional programs; determines needs, develops plans to meet those needs, and ensures that the programs are consistent with and include the Virginia Department of Education's Standards of Learning and other requirements; develops, coordinates, revises, and edits curriculum for specific courses within the program responsibilities; assists in the preparation of the annual budget of the School District.
* Fosters professional growth and the building of staff morale; keeps abreast of current research, participates in professional organizations, and keeps staff informed of State and National issues; advises and assists Principals in the District's evaluation program for instructional personnel and serves as a resource to teachers experiencing difficulty.
* Prepares bids; allocates, orders, and prepares for distribution of all supplies and equipment; works with schools to maintain current inventory of equipment.
* Performs related work as required.

Job Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Holds a Postgraduate Professional License with an endorsement in Health and Physical Education.
* Has successful experience in teaching.
* Has demonstrated the professional and personal characteristics necessary for working effectively with school personnel and members of the community.
ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIP:
The Health and Physical Education Supervisor reports to the Assistant Superintendent for Instruction through the Director of Curriculum and Instruction.
