  • POSITION INFORMATION:

    Supervisor: Mr. Paul Lawrence, Director of Information Literacy Employment Period: 10 Months Employment Status: Full-time Start Date: August 2018 Salary: Teacher scale -- commensurate with experience

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Curriculum Integration Technology Teacher (CITT) incorporates strategies for 'Learning and Innovation Skills' that focus on creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration to prepare students for the future. The CITT collaborates with curriculum specialists and school instructional leaders to determine how Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Literacy can be integrated into the learning environment, while making the teaching and learning of all subjects relevant to the demands of the 21st century. The CITT provides opportunities for the curriculum specialists, instructional leaders, teacher librarians and classroom teachers to effectively infuse information literacy across all areas of the curriculum and promotes knowledge and attitudes to help students develop effective lifelong information skills.
    • Collaborates with curriculum specialists, school instructional leaders, and teacher librarians in the process of developing effective strategies through high quality curriculum-based technology professional development opportunities and training.
    • Works with curriculum specialists to support the online curriculum management system.
    • Supports a foundation in production and media design through hands-on involvement in classroom multimedia assignment.
    • Evaluates and researches procedures for the examination of emerging technologies in an educational setting.
    • Collaborates with curriculum specialists, school instructional leaders, teacher librarians, and classroom teachers in utilizing and integrating appropriate technology resources into the curriculum to maximize student learning.
    • Supports the division-wide technology integration effort in promoting global and digital learning skills.
    • Implement strategies for educational technology in an online-virtual settings.
    • Works with Coordinator of Information Literacy in developing effective curriculum-based technology professional development and training; ensures everyone completes the State Technology Standards for Instructional Personnel.
    • Recommends the effective use of available software/hardware to enhance curriculum integration.
    • Collaborates with Coordinator of Information Literacy and Teacher Specialists to ensure legal and ethical standards are used in relation to copyright laws, school policies, and the use of technology.
    • Promotes skills as directed by the district-wide technology plan.
    • Continues to grow professionally through the development of emerging and current educational technology skills.
    • Possess leadership skills needed for working collaboratively with students, teachers, administrators, CITT team members, and the community within a 21st century environment.
    • Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities.
    • Complies with and supports school and division regulations and policies.
    • Performs related duties as assigned in accordance with the school/system policies and practices.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:
    • Valid Professional Virginia teaching license. Preferred: Graduate Degree in Education, Instructional Technology or equivalent experience.
    • Has a minimum of three years successful full-time teaching experience.
    • Demonstrates proficiency in HCS software programs, iPad apps, and technology tools.
    • A strong foundation in curriculum and curriculum development.
    • Possesses an aptitude for integrating 21st century educational technology into curriculum.
    • Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills.
    • Demonstrates interpersonal and leadership skills.
    • Uses a team approach and collaboration to accomplish tasks.
    • Personal characteristics conducive to working effectively with students, teachers, school personnel, parents, and community groups.
    • Must be able to provide his/her own transportation to assigned schools throughout the division.
