School Social Worker
FLSA Status: Exempt
Employment Term: 10 months/Full-Time
Job Goal: To provide counseling services to students.
Essential Functions:
1. Provides counseling services to students who have emotional and or behavioral components in their IEP's.
2. Provides career-counseling services.
3. Provides counseling to promote social skills, behavior management, coping mechanisms, and increased attention to task.
4. Participates in development and implementation of IEP's.
5. Organizes, coordinates, and conducts in-service training for staff regarding behavior management, socialization, CYS practices, etc.
6. Communicate and work collaboratively with other staff and parents with social emotional issues of the student.
7. Adheres to weekly counseling schedules and provides written documentation to the Director Special Services.
8. Participates in formulation of policies related to drug and alcohol awareness, behavior issues, and attention difficulties.
9. Maintain daily documentation of all services provided.
10. Demonstrate knowledge of school counseling laws and practices.
11. Reports problems of neglect or abuse to local CYS agency.
Job Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in social work or other related field required; advanced degree preferred.
2. Secure three background checks: PA State Criminal, PA Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprinting.
