Essential Functions and Objectives:

The Student Engagement Coordinator (the Coordinator) supports DPS' efforts to provide students, families, educators and school networks with robust summer programs, student transitions supports, and student empowerment programs. The Coordinator will collaborate with three student engagement managers (Credit Recovery, Student Voice and Leadership, Transitions) to provide administrative and project coordination support for multiple summer programs, transitions programs, and the Student Voice and Leadership (SVL) programs.

Expected Outcomes and Results:

- Student Voice and Leadership school teams are well trained, well coordinated and well supported to lead for change at the local school and broader district level.

- Students are getting on track to graduate through regional summer programming.

- Students grow in literacy and math academic skills through regional summer programming.

- Students attend their best fit schools through transitions support programs.

- Students are prepared for middle and high school through school-based sixth and ninth grade academy programs.

- Execute all summer programming and SVL programming with excellence, communicate with key stakeholders and deliver programs within budget.

- Continue the student engagement team culture of excellent customer service.

Vision & Strategy:

- Summer Program Coordination: Lead program continuous improvement and management for multiple Student Engagement team summer programs: Ninth Grade Academy, Regional Summer School Credit Recovery, Student Engagement RfP Program and Generation Teach.

Operational & Organizational:

- Supporting project intake, project tracking, project coordination and individual project lead needs, posting jobs and supporting HR functions, managing budgets and purchase order process.

- Summer Program Coordination: Attend and lead site leader meetings; Coordinate and implement central recruitment efforts; Liaise with Department of Technology Services and site leaders to ensure appropriate systems access (Edgenuity, Infinite Campus, etc); Develop and manage budgets for each program; Order and distribute supplies; Coordinate staffing process for centrally managed programs; Support evaluation process for each program; Coordinate site visits for district leaders and stakeholders.

- Student Voice and Leadership Program Coordination: External and internal stakeholder communication, scheduling, event planning and coordination; Support SVL with budget expenditures, including tracking expenses, analyzing budget to actuals, and providing variance reconciliation including resolving budget issues; Support SVL will website edits, monitor social media accounts; Support SVL with event management through school-year events, meetings and program retreats; Support SVL with Student Board of Education (SBOE) and Young African American and Latinx Leaders (YAALL); Meeting with school leaders, students, and community and district partners; Support SVL with program facilitation and program workshops.

Knowledge, Experience & Other Qualifications:

- 3+ years' experience in public education, higher education, related industry or government agency.

- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel and Outlook.

- Demonstrated experience managing and completing multiple projects (full life-cycle project planning and implementation.

- Outstanding facilitation and communication skills, including ability to inspire others.

- Strong inter-personal skills and ability to work with individuals at all different levels in the organization.

- Ability to multi-task and juggle management of several high-priority projects in parallel.

- High degree of integrity in handling confidential information.

- Ability to work in a multi-ethnic and multi-cultural environment with district and school leaders, faculty, staff and students.

- Bilingual Spanish/English preferred.

- Valid CO driver's license.

- Position requires flexibility in work hours to meet the schedule-related needs of students and families, including early mornings, evenings and weekends.
