5- Week Summer Math Course (Pre - Algebra/ Algebra)
Position: Math Teacher/Tutor
Dates: July 9 - August 9
Time: 9:00 - 10:30
Application Due Date: June 30, 2018
Budget Stipend: $2250 for the course.
Course Objective: This math intensive course will consist of incoming 8th grade students and current 9th grade students whose disability impacts his/her ability to retain the foundational mathematical skills needed to be successful in Algebra. The course will focus on the topics listed below while reinforcing operations with integers, fractions, and decimals. Calculator skills will also be taught.
1. Using Order of Operations
2. Evaluating Variable Expressions
3. Using the Distributive Property
4. Combining similar terms
5. Solving equations in one variable
6. Solving inequalities in one variable
7. Graphing inequalities in one variable
8. Graphing linear equations
9. Identifying slope and intercepts of a line
10. Graphing linear inequalities

- Bachelor degree preferred
