Our Albert D. Lawton School is seeking a licensed educator to teach French and Spanish to our middle school students beginning with the 2018-19 school year. Position is full-time. We are offering a temporary one-year contract to the selected candidate, which means the person selected would need to reapply if interested in returning for the 2019-2020 school year.

We are seeking candidates with the following qualifications:
- Hold (or be eligible to hold) a valid VT Educator license with a French (3-06A or 2-06A) and Spanish (3-06B or 2-06B) endorsements. Individuals who hold an endorsement in one language area and are eligible to acquire the second are encouraged to apply.
- Demonstrates knowledge and expertise in French/Spanish in regards to content and pedagogy.
- Ability to implement a focus of literacy across the content areas, and expertise in utilizing technology to support instruction.
- Knowledge and/or experience using standards based learning strategies and reporting of student progress, differentiated instruction to support each student, and formative assessment to provide student feedback and to adjust lesson delivery.
- Dedication to providing a safe and respectful learning environment for students.
- Excellent teaching, organizational, planning, written and oral communication, and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to the success of ALL students, and ability to understand and teach to the various learning styles of students.
- The ability to effectively engage students.
- Commitment to continuous improvement in the areas of knowledge and professional practice.
- Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the student population being served and how demographic variables impact student achievement, and effectively uses this knowledge to effectively design and delivery instruction.
- Effective integrates 21st century skills into the learning environment.
