Qualifications
The Program Leader for The Tree House School Age Childcare program: A high school diploma is required. An associate degree or higher in education and/or experience in education or childcare is preferred.
Essential Job Function
  • The Program Leader for The Tree House School Age Childcare program shall be the supervisor of daily activities This person must be able to develop and supervise programs that serve the needs of a diverse range of studentsThis position works under the direction and supervision of the Office of Family and Community PartnershipBuilding level supervision is provided by the Building Principal and the Family Resource LeaderThe review and evaluation of the person serving in this position will include established performance measures, which reflect qualitative tasks and goalsThis position will hire and supervise staff assigned to the school age childcare program and maintain a professional relationship with certified and non-certified staffResponsible for day-to-day operations in The Tree House Program—planning and posting activities and projects that serve the needs of the children in the programResponsible for establishing a nurturing, comfortable relationship with all childrenMaintain and monitor enrollment of children including maintenance of all required program, medical and health records. Give medications as allowed by State and District policySchedule, supervise and evaluate all staff at the site. Certify time clock entries of staff for payrollEstablish a welcoming, friendly and cooperative relationship with parents/familiesCommunicate effectively with familiesFollow all State and Windsor Public Schools Board of Education policies and guidelines including those from the State Department Office of Early ChildhoodReport all suspected cases of child abuse and neglect the Department of Families and Children with notification to the Office of Family and Community Partnership and the Building PrincipalPromote positive community relationshipsSchedule, plan and lead regular staff meetings for your Tree House ProgramImplement a professional development/training program in conjunction with the Office of Family and Community Partnership that allows all staff to meet staff and local requirements for certificationReport regularly to Office of Family and Community Partnership student enrollment, payments, student, parental and staffing issuesResponsible for procuring supplies and food in collaboration with the building Family Resource Center CoordinatorTrain new Group Leaders with assistance from District staff as neededPromote the program within the Windsor Community
Work Day
The Program Leader shall work approximately 30 hours per week. The before school shift is from 6:45-9:15 AM and the after school shift is from 2:30-6:00 PM. Hours are different during snow days and school holidays when program is open from 7AM-6PM (these additional hours are considered part of the position's salary - no additional pay is earned during these days)

Work Year
The work year includes the school and early release days/professional days, holidays and vacation days that the Tree House program is open plus six additional days to be worked before and/or following the last student day. Inclement weather days will be paid based on the hours worked.
