    Reports To: Superintendent of Schools

    BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE
    To assist the superintendent in fulfilling the responsibility of each student and staff person. Work on continual growth both at a personal professional level and building level for staff and students.

    PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Serve as an instructional leader.
    2. Provide leadership in developing the school improvement plan.
    3. Provide professional development leadership to address the school's improvement goals.
    4. Share school and district -wide assessment data with staff.
    5. Lead curriculum implementation and fidelity.
    6. Supervise all expenditures and receipts.
    7. Supervise and directs the total lunchroom operation.
    8. Provide leadership of the school's athletic and extracurricular activities through the athletic/activities director and/or assistant principal.
    9. Attend and supervise school events.
    10. Prepare the master schedule and be responsible for student scheduling through the counselors.
    11. Supervise all faculty and staff (certified and non-certified) assignments and duties.
    12. Keep the superintendent informed of the school's activities and concerns.
    13. Responsible for the safety and administration of the school plant, including maintenance and repair of the school plant, grounds and equipment.
    14. Conduct conferences with parents and students.
    15. Supervise the preparation of all school reports to the superintendent's office.
    16. Conduct staff meetings as necessary.
    17. Provide leadership in developing standards of conduct for students; handles individual discipline cases.
    18. Supervise the maintenance of all student records.
    19. Cooperate with the Director of Human Resources in hiring of all new staff and in the removal of unsatisfactory staff.
    20. Plan and supervise emergency preparedness programs with guidance from the Director of Safety and Security.
    21. Exercise decisive leadership in crisis management.
    22. Supervise the purchase of all equipment and supplies and maintain satisfactory methods of accounting.
    23. Create and maintain an environment of learning for both students and staff.
    24. Evaluate staff with other members of the administrative team.
    25. Conduct hearings for suspension or expulsion.
    26. Regularly attends team meetings.
    27. Lead a variety of communication strategies to reach parents and the community.
    28. Prepare all faculty and student handbooks.
    29. Perform such other tasks as may be assigned by the superintendent.

The employee is responsible for the work output of others. The employee occasionally works extended hours. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Term of Employment: 12 Months

    Salary Range: Commensurate with qualifications and experience

    Evaluation Frequency: Job performance will be evaluated a minimum of 2 times per year.
